Since November 2007 after my sister Karen Louise Beck was murdered by her husband, I have had the honor and privilege to speak to and meet hundreds of people who have been affected by domestic abuse in some fashion.
Their strength, resilience and determination to continue to move forward is a constant inspiration and helps me keep my focus on what issues I must continue to speak about.
Never Give Up and I would not have been able to do all the things we have done over the past two years had it not been for the tremendous support we have received from so many people and from some amazing corporations and businesses.
We know that the economic picture of the country and for everyone concerned remains uncertain, so what people can do is limited. We appreciate all that you have done for the shelters and to assist us in raising awareness around domestic violence.
In particular, I also recognize that as more businesses cut back, lay off people and watch their bottom lines, it becomes more and more difficult for the shelters and other agencies to maintain the programs they have in place to assist the survivors; so the fact that so many businesses have stepped up and helped over the past year is above and beyond what I expected and I thank you.
The video below is a sample of some events Never Give Up and I have done so far. We plan to do more and with your support and belief that what we do is important and makes a difference for someone who still suffers, we will never give up.
